Hautecake by Sonnda Catto designed our wedding cake, which was simply stunning. Throughout the whole process, from initial consultation (including sampling a variety of her cakes, which were all equally yummy!) to the finished commission, Sonnda was full of ideas centred around our vision of what we wanted for our cake. Her creativity is endless, her approach enthusiastic and refreshingly fluid, and her research and attention to detail second to none. Sonnda also provided favours and pâtisserie for our wedding - the rose and raspberry gâteau being a particular favourite of mine. All were delicious and our guests gushed about her creations. It’s easy to see why she is an award-winning baker. I’d highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. For that something special and extraordinary, whatever the occasion, Hautecake can be the only choice.

I was looking for a WOW birthday cake and I couldn’t believe my luck when I found Sonnda at Hautecake. Sonnda was both attentive and personable throughout the whole process, designing me a cake based on her Lilac Trio design. After a tasting I choose the Tropical Summer Fruit Cake, which was divine, encased in a lime white chocolate ganache made with Valrhona Opalys. The result was absolutely WOW in both design and flavour. The cake was WOWED by all my guests. Thank you Sonnda once again. Highly, highly recommended.

I wanted to say a huge thank-you for your beautiful cakes and pâtisserie at our wedding. The mini raspberry and kiwi pavlovas were absolutely divine and everyone commented on how beautiful they looked and tasted! To make the kiwis into little hearts when you found out I was from New Zealand - that was so special! It’s those little touches that made them little works of art. We have had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at Turnberry, but your creations were so much more delicious! The green tea cakes in particular - gorgeous! Thanks again, you are incredibly talented and it was an absolute pleasure to deal with you.
Imaginative and elegant combinations that you won’t find elsewhere. Sonnda’s cakes look beautiful and taste divine, thanks to her attention to detail and commitment to using only the finest ingredients. What I love most about her work, though, is the focus on seasonality; her cakes are always in tune with the changing scents, tastes, colours and moods of the season.
It was all about having a cake that not only looked good but also tasted amazing. Sonnda made us the most wonderful, elegant cake. A true work of art. Our guests comment on it to this day.

What we saw in Sonnda was an incredibly passionate and precise baker. Sonnda’s ability to marry the techniques and traditions of classic French pâtisserie to the very best of Scottish produce clearly made her stand out against the competition. Her outstanding attention to detail and exquisite blend of flavours and textures make her work an absolute pleasure for the eye and the taste buds. If you want a great cake then look no further. If you want an excellent cake to look at only - go elsewhere and take your chances.
